Arjen Boerstra (Heerenveen, 1967) lives in Den Horn and works in the city of Groningen in The Netherlands. As a visual artist he uses role play in staged situations, combining sculpture/installation, video, photography and performance.
Memory, identity, common and personal history are leading motives. Boerstra is questioning the development and achievements of mankind. By reïnventing, rebuilding and reënacting he creates new perspectives.
The projects and adventures are often situated in rural landscapes, to interact with the environment and to use its space. His work is also on show in exhibition spaces to reflect on his explorations and to have an instant dialogue within the world of art.
