Gedurende één dag leefde Boerstra in zijn huis aan het water. Hij lag in bed, stond op, keek door het zolderraampje, ging via de trap naar beneden. Daar stookte hij een vuur in de haard, keek uit het raam, ging naar buiten door de deur en probeerde wat vis te vangen.
Ondertussen stond het publiek aan de andere kant van het water. Contact tussen Boerstra en publiek was net als in het echte leven mogelijk al pratend door een open raam, of als Boerstra buiten was. De gesprekken over het vissen staken voor beide partijen met kop en schouders uit boven de gesprekken over kunst.


During one day Boerstra lived in his house near the water. He lay in his bed, got up, peeped out the window in the attic room, went down the stairs. He lighted a fire in the fire place, looked through the window, got outside through the door and tried to catch some fish.
In the meantime the audience was standing on the other side of the water. Contact with his audience was possible, like in real life by talking through a window or being outside. Talking about fishing was the best experience. Talking about art the most uncomfortable.
